Having not driven at all after passing my driving test in August 2010, my fear of driving was to such an extent that I would not sit on the driving seat. As a mother of two young kids, driving was imminent. I contacted my previous driving instructor, who suggested Alan’s name.
From the very first day I met Alan, I felt he was extremely helpful and understanding which was what I needed just to be on the driving seat and take control of the car. Apart from a little bit of hesitation for the first 10 minutes, I was driving. Alan constantly encouraged me and patiently explained to me of any errors I was making. He never forgot to appreciate me for not repeating those whenever the met with the same situation again.
In a short span of time, which about 5 lesons, Alan refreshed my memory of general driving rules including practice of roundabouts and parking.
The best part of the refresher course was the Motorway driving . I absolutely loved 3 hours driving from Croydon to Brighton on the Motorway. One month ago, I wouldn’t have dreamt driving on the normal roads let alone driving on motorways.
Today I drive everywhere with my kids. Thank you very much Alan.
I’d like to give a very honest review of my learning to drive journey. As some one who for many years could “sort of” drive. I finally decided I wanted and needed to pass my test and get on the road. To do so I needed a driver instructor who was affordable, available to fit my schedule, and also someone who would work with me from the experience levels I had. I was also slightly impatient and wanted to pass as soon as I possibly could and was very aware of instructors just taking my money and dragging out the learning time.
Finding someone to fit my needs was very challenging at first but I came across Alan and struck gold! Together we managed to get me passed first time and driving in just over a month! Alan was able to work around my times which where somewhat all over the place due to my work rota. And every lesson I got out the car feeling progress was made and that I’d had my money’s worth. He was very patient, Very calm and took the nervousness away from it. If anything I’d say it was great fun learning to drive and Alan was fully responsible for my positive experience of this.
I can’t recommend him enough. If you’re looking for someone who’s knowledgable, flexible, fair and worth your time and money look no further. I cant describe how happy I was to pass my test and il forever be grateful for having such a fantastic driving instructor that quite honestly saved me time and money by giving me exactly what I wanted. It’s rare to find an instructor that you can say generally “cares” like Alan does.
If you’re reading this then you’re extremely lucky to have found the best instructor and I’m sure you’ll have just as many great things to say when you pass your test and see how easy and enjoyable it actually can be. 10/10 would fully recommend to anyone and everyone!!!
Alan was brilliant. I couldn’t recommend him more highly. I did an intensive course and spent 5 hours a day for over a week in a car with him.
